Platzkart
The central idea of the “Platzkart” series lies in the Russian wordplay «плацкарт—плакат» (platzkart—plakat). “Platzkart” refers to a third-class open sleeper carriage in the USSR and Russia, while “plakat” means “poster”. The color palette and numbering likewise allude to trains and carriages. The text «Дизайн—это инструмент заботы, не пресыщения и не насыщения, и смысл» (Design is a tool of care, not of excess, nor saturation, but of meaning) comes from Russian art director Dima Barbanel (2023). The series connects cultural context with the broader mission of graphic design as a profession. Printed on Premium Matte 180 g and available in a single format of 61 x 91 cm. Please note that it is sold without the frame.
