Carmen Oliver

Carmen Oliver (born in 1985) holds a degree in Fine Arts and a diploma in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. Her pictorial work is built with watercolor on paper, the same material she specializes in as a restorer, focusing on documents, graphic works, and objects made from this cellulose-based medium. Throughout her artistic career, she has received several awards, including the Alonso Cano Painting Prize, Third Prize for Young Painting from the Granada City Council, and the FACBA and AlRaso grants. She has participated in group exhibitions at venues such as the Palacio Condes de Gabia (Granada) and other cultural centers in the province. She has also held several solo exhibitions, notably "Elizabeth’s Blackwell" at the Gran Capitán Cultural Center (Granada). Her paintings weave a dreamlike, and even eerie, atmosphere, creating pieces that reflect on identity and question the social trends that lead us to suffocation.
