Mario Hernández (Madrid, 1976) is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Madrid. His work focuses mainly on portraiture, alternating between real-life subjects — recognizable figures from the worlds of art, music, or culture — and entirely invented ones, always marked by a distinct, often unexpected identity.
His work emerges from experimentation, free from academic training, and is guided by intuition, playful use of materials, and a constant curiosity. He sees himself both as the creator and a witness to his own work. He has exhibited on several occasions in Madrid, including as part of a group show at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Conde Duque.
Among his recent commissions is a portrait of musician Joe Crepúsculo, shown with his partner and their cats — an intimate, domestic, and slightly hallucinatory scene.
Under the alias T3 Pop Temerario, he also produces experimental electronic music with a highly personal touch. On his Bandcamp page, he has built an extensive sonic archive where he designs all the cover artwork himself, maintaining a pulse that blends pop, outsider art, and the unclassifiable. He has completed studies in music production, always approaching sound with the same open, unruly spirit that defines his visual work.
