Paloma Blanco was born in Alicante, Spain in 1974 and finished her studies in fine arts in Cuenca in 1997. Since then, she has dedicated herself to plastic creation through painting, sculpture, and installation, without being defined by one discipline in particular. Of all the works she has made, the "Pornotapados" are the best known. Their origin goes back to many years ago, when Paloma started painting on top of porn magazines, covering up the sexually explicit parts and putting the characters in everyday situations. The publishing house Belleza Infinita published a magazine with all of them, and to this day, they are still sold all over the world. Most importantly, the Pornotapados in Futura Basura are new and unpublished. Paloma Blanco has also made installations with lamp tears, found letters or figures lined with disco ball mirrors. In January 2020, she exhibited at the CA2M in Madrid, with painted reproductions of Pornotapados, in an exhibition group called Humor Absurdo. After she gave birth to her son and the pandemic started, she went to live in the countryside. Nowadays, she is painting on canvas with oils and collaborating with other inspiring people. As she says currently, "I am in search of the meaning of art and what I want to do."
